Create Your Social Media CV

I noticed something surprising today as I was scrolling my LinkedIn profile. I have been posting my thoughts on the topics of social media, google business and book editing on my social platforms. As I checked out my recent posts on LinkedIn, I saw one post there that stood out like a date tree in a desert. What I saw made me wonder if there was some glitch on LinkedIn. The impressions on my usual posts are between 50 and 100. Now, here I see one post of mine showing '244,436 impressions'😮

I scratched my head and checked if there was something wrong with LinkedIn. Then I went deeper and checked the analytics section. I noticed that the impressions graph had indeed spiked up for the post titled 'Your social media presence is your best CV'. Check out the post👇🏼

Having so many impressions on a post - what does this mean? It means that this topic has resonated well with the social media community, who feel that the link to CV and social media is indeed promising.

What does this mean for you? What it means is that you also need to consider whether just a 3-page printout of your CV will be more impactful, or videos of you talking about your skills and experience on social media will have a more positive result for you?

This is why I say that having a 'social media CV' makes more sense in the world of videos that we are watching daily on our phones.

What are the advantages:

1. Your face and your words in a video can inspire better trust in a prospective employer, than a quiet, wordy CV.

2. You can exhibit your communication skills as you discuss the highlights in your CV in short videos that you publish as reels and shorts.

3. You get to learn important skills of how to operate the top social media platforms in the world to your advantage.

Now, you can take out that CV of yours out of your laptop and desktop folder and make notes on what to say about yourself in your first three reels.
