Note To First-Time Authors ✍🏼 Issue #7, Byline Friday 🙋🏼‍♂️
October 04, 2024

Write First, Edit Next

If you are a first-time author keep this clear in your mind, then writing your first draft of 75,000 words is priority. You just need to write and write and write till you cross the 75K words limit. Once you have this first draft you will feel good that there is something tangible that you have got in front of you. Take a break of 2-3 days from this completed 1st draft. Forget it for this duration. Come back to it after 2-3 days and then take a look at it. You will find many things that need improvement. There will be so many passages and sections that need to be deleted as they don't add anything to the manuscript. This will be the time that you begin your editing process. Editing of the unnecessary words and cutting down many of them so that what you will be left by the time that you finish editing your 2nd draft will be something that really brings your vision into focus. So, write first and edit next.

Getting In Front of Social Media

If you are a professional or a small business owner, you need to get in front of social media. What does this mean? This means that instead of remaining invisible to most people and just doing your work and then going back to your personal life won't do it. That is, if you are looking for a higher level of success that you have never experienced so far, then you need to adopt social media and make it your closest ally. Social media can help you build an audience for you and your business that can result in a community that can fill your life and your business with new opportunities and customers. If you can be authentic and real while coming on your chosen social platforms and sharing your value, thoughts and personality, then you will get to experience all those things that you had once dreamed of and thought impossible. So, it is time to get in front of social media.

If you are interested in exploring and developing your Social Media journey further, you can book an inexpensive discovery call with me. In this short 15-minute video call, we will discuss at what level of social media are you on and what do you seek from social media. This will only be a discovery call, not a consultation call. The paid consultation call comes later. Discovery Call link 👇🏼
